I’m Steve - founder of Practical Mindfulness. As a business psychologist and coach, for more than 20 years I’ve worked with clients from all walks of life, helping them grow personally and professionally.


What I’ve noticed

No matter who you are, what you do, or where you're from, some themes keep cropping up:

  • Imposter syndrome is everywhere.
  • Work-life boundaries are blurrier than ever.
  • Emotional resilience is no longer a 'nice to have' - it’s essential.


The Covid-19 pandemic made these challenges even more visible, reshaping how we live, work, and connect, added to by the increasing role technology plays in our lives.


My mindfulness journey

In 2019, I hit a personal crisis of confidence. Not knowing much about it at the time, I signed up for an introductory mindfulness course - and, with more than a few bumps along the way, over time it has changed everything.  Mindfulness has helped me:

  • Feel less anxious and reactive
  • Stay calmer and more balanced
  • Develop a deeper sense of wellbeing


Why I started Practical Mindfulness

I wanted to share a version of mindfulness that’s practical, grounded, and free from unnecessary jargon. Whether you’re looking for clarity, calm, or are simply curious, you’ll find a friendly, non-judgmental, supportive, space here.  I invite you to bring:

  • Even a touch of healthy scepticism


Mindfulness isn’t a magic fix - but for many, it can be life-changing.
